Helping the marginalized to Rise in STEM
IT’S GIVING TUESDAY!!
Several years ago, I wanted to start a charity and call it Rise in STEM. And so, I purchased the URL, and kind of started it. Then, life got in the way. And so, I put the charity on the backburner. The URL www.RiseInSTEM.com sat in my queue for a year, and I didn’t want to sell it because I wanted the name to represent my vision for helping Black and marginalized youth. Then, I came across Rise in STEM, the Toronto-based organization that perfectly matched my vision for the charity. And so, I reached out and introduced myself to Irene Duah-Kessie, the Founder and Executive Director, and donated my URL to the organization. I was sooooo excited to see someone else, someone I never knew or met, pick up the baton and run with it! Irene is a hero not just to Toronto’s youth, but to me as well!
This organization is wonderful! It sets the underserved youth up for success in science, technology, engineering, and math! All too often, brilliant individuals never find the path that they can easily walk because their lives are filled with challenges. This program serves as a beacon for Toronto’s youth who deserve the opportunity to explore STEM programs. This organization is truly dear to my heart. So, this Giving Tuesday, if you can spare a few dollars, please consider Rise in STEM! Your generous donation will set Toronto’s youth up for success! Thank you!
